Weston YWCA in the basement of the Weston Library

Between 1944 and 1946, Weston YWCA (Young Women's Christian Association) was housed in the old lecture hall in the basement of Weston Public Library.

In 1949, the space was renovated for a new children’s library, although the work was not completed until 1950. At the same time, the main library was extensively remodeled, with “fixtures and the Office being re-arranged to improve library service and the general appearance of the Library as a whole,” Weston officials reported.
